FHE

Brooklyn and Hallie eating my first attempt at homemade eclairs, which as it turns out aren't that hard to make.
FHE. I love FHE, and so do the girls. We only did it a few times while Chris was gone, so I think we were all excited to get it going again. Brooklyn was in charge of the music tonight. She had us singing Old MacDonald, and Scripture Power while playing a variety of musical instruments. It was really cute. Even Chris participated even though he sang at church on Sunday (in his mind that means you don't have to sing at FHE. FYI when I say sing at church I mean participate in the sacrament hymn).

Camp-out

The girls camped out in the living room, on Tuesday night. It was cute!

Playing Outside

I let the girls play out in the front yard today. After many trips to their bedroom this is what I found.

Week Re-Cap

Well Chris finished up his course, and did really well. He was told he was the best that ever went through the course (he would kill me if he knew that I wrote that, but it is true!). We are very proud of Chris, and are really excited to have him HOME!!
I got a little behind on my posts this week (darn migraines) so it is time for a week re-cap.

County Fair

Today was the Arlington County Fair! Who new that they could cram a county fair into a large city. The girls had a blast riding the rides and eating things like deep fried oreos, and turkey legs.
My Friend Raelynn and Cute Quinn
I made the mistake of letting Chris take the kids over to the ferris wheel. I arrived just in time to see my 4 and 7 year old daughters making the climb to the top BY THEMSELVES! I nearly had a heart attack! I have to admit it was actually really safe, and the girls thought that they were pretty cool to be able to ride a big ride alone.

Picnic with FDR

On Friday we had a picnic with some friends at one of my most favorite memorials the FDR. The weather has FINALLY dropped below 100 degrees so it was a real treat to be able to be out and about during the day.

Dinner Out

By Thursday I was feeling a lot better and so we met our friends down at Pentagon Row for some dinner and live music. They had free face painting so the girls got all dolled up and ran/danced around on the grass. It was good to get out of the house.

Brookie, Reagan, Hallie and Kate. Sorry for the blurriness, I now know I have a smudge on my lens.

Tea Please

About once or twice a week the girls turn our hallway into a tea party. Today Brooklyn decided to use real food. She made Hallie and I lunch and even cleaned up the kitchen after herself (which unfortunately meant spoons and forks slathered in Peanut Butter shoved into a dishwasher full of clean dishes :) It was really cute, and her lunch wasn't too bad either.
Since I was taking it easy this week we decided to turn our kitchen table into a massive art station. The girls love to play with my stamps.

North Carolina

Chris finished up his course and the same day had to head to NC for drill weekend. We hadn't seen him in a while and so we tagged along. While Chris went to work the girls and I headed to the Children's Museum. It was amazing! The girls loved it, and we made it back to the hotel EXHAUSTED!
Brooklyn LOVED playing in their massive store/kitchen. She could have stayed all day!
They had a workshop with real wood, saws, screwdrivers, screws, tape, egg cartons, pipe cleaners, you name it. They were able to make wooden swords and books, etc. All by themselves! Hallie could have stayed here all day.
They had a room that was full of pretend bouncy jellyfish. Brooklyn insisted on being dressed up while we were in here.
The girls playing doctor in the play ambulance. This is for you Uncle Paul!

Puddle Jumping

We finally got a break from the horrid heat with a little rain! The girls were so excited that they grabbed their umbrellas and headed out to puddle jump. It was cute at first but as soon as I turned my back on them for a minute they were laying down in the puddles. Yuck!

Go Fish

I caught Brooklyn playing a game of Go Fish with her bear today. It was really cute!

Stuffed Animal Parade

The girls spent the entire day dressing up their stuffed animals like princesses in preparation for their Stuffed Animal Parade. They told me that the parade will start in the morning. I can't wait to see just what a Stuffed Animal Parade is! * You can click on photo to make it larger (it is kind of hard to see)
